Take A Sneak Peek Inside This 3BHK Home, Designed & Delivered by Hipcouch

Most homeowners in Mumbai would prefer a home that is functional with many gadgets so as to facilitate their busy schedules. But the owners of this 3BHK in Godrej Trees, wanted us to design their home in minimalist style and at the same time complement their lifestyle. So this is how we got to design and deliver this 3BHK that is minimalist yet functional in design.

3BHK in Godrej Design and The Delivery

Let’s take a sneak peek into how we designed and delivered this attractive 3BHK apartment in Vikhroli.

Living Room:

This 3BHK offers a warm welcome to the guests with its minimalistic-style living room. The plain grey multi-seater, resembling an English roll-arm sofa, adds appeal to the room. Having an average depth of 42 inches, guests can easily sink into this sofa (and of course, refuse to get up!!) This classic grey seater is always in vogue and versatile enough to combine with any type of furniture. For instance, we have paired this grey seater with an interesting mustard chaise lounge with a contemporary upright shape, capable of seating two guests side by side or one individual reclining.

The oval centre table gels in shape to the seaters, and the glass top makes it more sleek and appealing. The grey carpeted floor space adds a plush texture to the living space and more warmth to the room.

The gallery wall has been kept minimal with geometric design art frames. A small amount of greenery in the corner adds more visual charm to the otherwise minimalist living room.

Coming to the small balcony that extends from the living room, we have purposefully designed it with a chick floor book-holder and an interesting sleek coffee table. The chairs gel with the small space and offer more floor height to make the small space look more expansive.

Dining and Bar Area:

We have designed and delivered the dining area according to the clients' lifestyle choices who were keen on having a small self-contained multifunctional bar cabinet. This wooden glazed bar cabinet offers considerable storage space with various wooden shelves, offering a smooth way to expose the client's liquor collection. But we have kept it chic and concealed to save a lot of floor space. This has been designed to considerably act as the perfect addition to the dining room or rather an extension of the dining room.

The dining area is slightly raised from the floor level and to highlight this, we have installed tiles in geometric designs. We have chosen attractive light colour designer tiles that make this small dining look more stunning and spacious.

For the dining chairs, we opted for a long seater for a relaxed two-hour meal and a simple style of three individual chairs with a good backrest and footrest so that they can double up as a bar chair as well. The idea for pairing with a long seater with individual chairs is that these chairs can be moved away when not in use (say when you do not entertain guests), leaving space for a relaxed and more spacious evening dinner with drinks for the family.

The dining tabletop is an interesting peninsula attached to the wall. The table rests on a sleek glass support. We have designed the table in a way to allow more legroom, which is an important aspect to keep in mind while designing dining tables and chairs. One must be cautious as to where the chairs fall regarding the rests and supports, especially if there is a space constraint. Also, reflecting the room shape in the table enhanced the charm of the dining area.

Also, the table is stacked with a small plant and barrel artefact to make the corner more charming. A small cabinet helps with storing crockery. The area is made interesting with decorative masks and a sleek mirror hanging above the cabinet.

Bedroom 1:

The first bedroom is compactly encompassed with a small double bed having a green headboard. The small space between the window and bed encapsulates a sleek side table beneath a reading light. On the other side is the wardrobe with compact grooves that act as door handles so that the moving space is not hindered. The walls are done in pastel hues, while the furnishings and furniture are in powder grey to complement the wall's neutral shade. Three uniform art frames above the headboard complete the look.

Bedroom 2:

The second bedroom, which is also done in the neutral shade, has wooden flooring. The curtains and furnishings gel with the wall colour, while a plush pink single-seater sofa is placed in the corner that acts as a stark contrast to the neutral hues in the room. A small rug placed beneath the sofa adds more warmth for light reading.

Bedroom 3:

This bedroom can also substitute for a study. Hence, the vertical space and horizontal space have been utilised to the maximum extent for storage while at the same time enhancing the aesthetic value. The bench-type sofa (with eye-catching throws) attached to the wall has hidden storage beneath.

The cupboards have been provided with maximum vertical storage space that extends upwards, keeping one column open for a display of books and other interesting stuff.

A small wall mounted lengthy study desk offers that extra legroom and is paired with a comfortable wooden armchair.

Kitchen:

The kitchen being long and narrow in shape, the parallel sides have been utilised to offer more space for moving around. A separate niche has been carved for placing the refrigerator. The cooking range is embedded in the countertop and plenty of storage has been provided above and below the countertop.

Another interesting aspect is the installation of recessed lights over the countertops and beneath the overhead cabinets.

Most people make a common mistake to add overhead lights just over the floors instead of adding them over workspaces like countertops and sinks. Recessed lighting also needs correct placement as not to cast shadows when working.

Another advantage of placing recessed lighting is that it not only illuminates the countertops but the cabinets above it as well. Here we have used a long line of recessed lighting instead of multiple downlights to illuminate the entire countertop and sink areas.

Bathrooms:

The bathrooms again have been fitted with maximum storage elements by making use of the vertical space on the sidewalls and beneath the washbasin. We have placed large mirrors in one bathroom for bringing in an expansive fee. For the smaller bathroom, the washbasin's cabinet doors have been fitted with mirrors to save on space.

We were pleased with the final look of this beautiful 3BHK that we designed and delivered on time, much to the occupants' enthusiasm. The design and décor seamlessly blend both the minimalist aesthetic appeal and functionality effectively.
